Someone told me that eating many potatoes may give me gestational diabetes. Is that true?

I eat potatoes all the time and I've never heard of this. its actually my favorite veggie

Due to the fact that potatoes are a starch, if they are consumed in large quantities, it can lead to gestational diabetes!
