Has anyone used lecithin for clogged mill ducts? I don't want to give up breastfeeding just yet but…

lecithin won't cure a clogged duct, but if you take it regularly it will help prevent clogged ducts. women will find they have chronic problems with clogged ducts and mastitis and have found taking lecithin regularly cured their problem.

What have you tried so far to unclog it?

Massaging my breast, hot compress, nursing my son (he doesn't want to nurse anymore), hand expressing, pumping, raw potato, onion, and cabbage leaves today.

have you tried dangle nursing?

it sounds weird, but you get on all fours and nurse your baby, but you make sure their chin is pointed towards the clogged duct.

if you can't get it out, I know this sounds really gross, you may need to ask you SO to suck it out since your baby may not be strong enough. if you don't pull it out you can get mastitis, or even worse your milk duct can get damaged which is pretty painful.

@crunchymomma I've been asking him. He'll say ok and only nibble on it for not even a whole minute. He's been really irritating me about this. He don't understand how serious this is for me. How long do he have to do it before it'll come out? Also do he have to suck really hard?

Yes he has to suck really hard pretty much. think of it like if you're drinking a strawberry milkshake with real strawberry chunks, a strawberry gets stuck in the straw and you suck really hard to get the chunk out so you can get more milkshake out through the straw.

exactly what @crunchymomma, recommended i did the same as i told you and it works it unclogged.

@lovelycin09 We tried yesterday and it didn't work. We didn't do it for long. My clogged ducts are so far back I believe that's why. I've been running a fever today and getting chills. I bought a mini body massager and have been massaging my breast with it. It seems to be breaking it up. I just want to get over this before it develops into something bad.

omg yess i had it really far up also i tried massaging with a.machine and him sucking hard for like 15-20 mins and it came out, hope you feel better i know how it feels if you continue to feel like this and wont get the duct unclog please go to the doctors hopefully they can help.

i know that makes you feel like giving up on breastfeeding but honestly you have gotten this far don't quit now do whats best for your baby

@lovelycin09 Definitely. I've been crying to my husband because I don't want to give up after a whole 9 months. This is discouraging. I'm going to do all that I can.

if you have a fever and chills you need to call your doctor and tell them, it's turned into mastitis and you need antibiotics.
