does anybody know if you can't put a car in your name & buy it if your license is suspended?! my uncle wants to buy me a car tomorrow and my license is suspended but I can't pay the fine till Monday because the place will be close tomorrow & on Easter & where closed today because of good Friday.
You can buy a car without insurance but someone that is driving it has to be insured. That's why I'm saying maybe get your uncle or mom or someone to come with you, someone that can be insured at the time of purchase and you should have no problems. Then when you have a valid license you insure it in your name.
If you don't have a license you aren't insured on any car. I didn't buy a car yet, I had to gather the same information you're trying to get. I won't technically have my license back til next month
If your uncle is buying the car for you have him come with you. There's probably something they can work out with him there
Well like I said buying the car and putting it in your name wouldn't be a problem, it's insuring it that becomes an issue with a suspended license. No one will insure you if you don't have a valid license, unfortunately. But you can pay for the car, put it in your name and own it. If someone else insures it and drives it off the lot for you im pretty sure that would be the only way to leave with it, technically. Some places might be different, but this is info I got from 3-4 dealerships near me as well as my old insurance agent
@emkasting did they let you buy it without it? my mom pays my insurance and im pretty sure I have insurance
But like a previous poster said, you technically won't be able to drive it off the lot until you fix the license and get insurance. But you can still buy it
I highly doubt it. our dealership just asked for my fiances insurance card from his current car, but if you don't have current insurance, they'd require that proof before handing the car over
no. plates would be registration. I thought you meant a private seller. you'd need insurance to leave the lot. can't get insured
@emily18234 but wouldn't they give me plates at the delarship?
you can. the title can be signed over to you, but you won't be able to get insurance, so you can't register it yet, meaning it won't be street legal
@_stephanie.g I hope not because im going to buy it tomorrow and want to buy it before he changes his mind
Not until you fix your license I think @cillagrace
question for my married mamas
How did you display your wedding license?
How/why do you buy a car EVERY year with your tax refund?? I know people can spend their money how they want...no judgement, u can buy 1,000 packs of skittles...but I know 2 ppl who has bought a car EVERY tax season for the last 3 years!! Like stop buying buckets and spend a little more for a better car or put a down payment on one. I just think that's a waste of money. What's one big thing you're buying/doing if you get a refund 🤔 #PayingOffMyCC #DressersForTheKids
One thing I'll never understand is how you're TTC but don't have anything to offer baby because you can't even take care of yourself!
Where is your home? Your job? Your car? And most importantly where is your SO/stable relationship? 🤔
It just blows my mind.
