When do people reckon I should get my hospital bag packed! I'm 28 weeks 2 days xx
I started packing at 33 weeks but completely finished at 36 weeks🙈 I'd get it completely done once you've had your baby shower if you're having one because you might get stuff that you want to take. if you don't have one id get it completely packed at 33 weeks. definitely be open minded about Labour because I had my mindset that I wanted a water birth I wanted just gas and air I wanted it in a midwifery LED birth unit well that did not go to plan at all I went into a hospital an hour away from my home due to reduced movement I was then rush down for an induction with my little boy who was extremely distressed inside of me. he had pooped in me his heart rate went up I was extremely ill uncomfortable on constant monitoring put on antibiotics through my drip I went 8 days over as well and my labour lasted 17 hours but in the end I got my little boy now and healthy😊(first baby) different for everyone xx
@firstbaby99 Yeah, you deffo need to be open minded when it comes to labour/birth :) Don't be too set on certain things :) but I am happy I did just gas and air until i had to have things decided for me :) Also, it is best to be in labour first :) because people often change their mind about pain relief when in labour :) E.g..they may say they want every single pain relief they can get.... but when it comes to it...it may not be needed :) To me the most uncomfortable part was feeling like I needed to poop. I was totally quiet during labour and pushing. Didn't make a sound at all. Labour doesn't need to be noisy :) to be honest it was really relaxing. Even with the complications. It was a good thing I had to go to theatre..as there were also complications with my uterus contracting..and my placenta coming out. So I lost 3 litres of blood after delivery. xx
@firstbaby99 I was in established labour for 6-8 hours :) In went into labour a week early :) gave birth to her 6 days early :) Yeah, I was numb from waist down :) xx
@winterbaby95, I'm starting to understand that I may not get what I want as off situations or no staff or she may be in awkward position! It's not an easy process giving birth but the after part Is worth it. Did the spinal block make you feel numb? Were you early or late? How long was the labour xx
and I am breast feeding 😍 Been doing it for 2 months now :) xx
@firstbaby99 I went on gas and air from 8cms :) When I was ready to push..I wasn't allowed to push on it :) I was pushing for an hour :) I then had to have a forcep delivery due to complications with my girls head being in an akward position :) I was given a spinal block. Could've done it all natural if my girls head hadn't been stuck :) I wanted a water birth but when I got there..there were no staff to be with me in the birthing centre xx
@darciepenny, exactly like me! I have to be on IV antis but I was told by the midwife I was aloud to have water birth the other day and I was over the moon. I hope she latches and I have no problems! Your going well then Hun xx
Yeah I had a last minute change of plan and they told me I needed anti biotics and would have to have a very hospitalised labour which is far from what I wanted, but my midwife was amazing, she got me in the water and let me do it myself, just like I wanted, she was great! And yeah! 2 months strong💪xxx
@darciepenny, I want to have a water birth and that's what I plan to do! See how it goes? Are you breast feeding? Xx
I tried gas and air for a couple contractions and hated it, ended up with an amazing natural water birth, my midwife was incredible xxx
@darciepenny, I've been in both my sisters labours first was 17 hours second about 2 hours both just gas and air! How did u do? Xx
Yeah first! They all say your first labour is long as well but mine was only 3 hours long🙈,and they sure do!xxx
@darciepenny, first baby Hun? Xx lots of people keep saying first is always late but I guess they come when they want to xx
I repacked mine soo much! He came two weeks early so im glad I was prepared xxx
@ashleigh91, @ststreet , @darciepenny @briony1994 @winterbaby95 thanks girlies! I was thinking about 32 but im worrying just incase! Seems like everyone packs and re packs xxx
I'm 35 weeks today and still haven't finished mine 😣😣 xx
I packed mine quite early, kept unpacking and forgetting things xx
I'm going to pack mine when I'm around 30 weeks! That way I'll have enough time to unpack and re-pack many times before the big arrival lol xx
Now xD I ended up packing mine around 37 weeks! I then had it unpacked! I unexpectedly went into labour at 39 weeks and was packing it while I was having contractions! 😂 xx
@cayleighnatasha, thanks Hun! I'll start packing about 32 I think! I really can't wait. I always worry about reduced movements now and I'm glad it all worked out well for you xx
