I was induced with my son at 39weeks because of Gestational diabetes, not only was she worried about how big he was but she said with Gestational diabetes the placenta can start to wear down faster and sooner. I don't remember her exact words but that's pretty much what she meant. when my son was born he was 8lbs and 15oz.

My mom was induced at barely 36wks because my little brother was already 9 lbs! Doctor said he might have gotten to be over 13lbs if she carried to term.

A friend of mine was - she delivered at 38 weeks and her baby was 11 lbs. gestational diabetes can definitely make the baby too large.

Might not help much but my mom was induced when she was pregnant with me I think it was because I was getting too big, 9lb 4oz at 37 weeks
