I have stopped breastfeeding (for personal reasons). I stopped pumping about 3 days ago...I weaned myself off till I was only getting a little less than an ounce from both. I am not leaking or anything but my breast have lumps that almost feel like rocks! How do I get rid of them? Should I continue to pump? Or how should I approach this...has anyone dealt with this issue?
I started alternating feedings. First was breast, next formula. But that was just because I had a stash and she was going through it rapidly and I was just drying up. She transitioned pretty well. @christy0128
you should be fine with a little leaking...pumping and nursing makes the most milk
hand expressing doesn't encourage more production. so leaking is okay. if you get flu like symptoms you need to be seen by a Dr quickly especially not nursing
yes its fine, that's the only way your milk will dry up. rubbing it once in the morning and at night isn't going to make your supply go up as if you were feeding the baby which would've been and multiple times a day, every few hours.
@kelseys, @mommy_1115 -- is it okay if I leak when massaging? I don't want to encourage more production
hot/warm shower and rub them while your in there, and do it after you get out before getting dressed.
@christy0128, she's only been on strictly formula for three days and so far so good!
