Ethan hasn't had a poop in three days and got a tad bit concerned but found out from reading and from his pediatrician that its not unusual for a breastfed baby to go that long without a poopy diaper (especially after 2 months). Because breast milk has the perfect nutritional balance for the baby, there's very little waste produced from it (which translates to having fewer dirty diapers than an infant who is formula-fed). It's more important to pay attention to behaviors. He is not fussy and his belly is nice and soft and he has adequate wet diaper. I'm more relieved.

@sissy340, I am so used to having poop with every change so got worried and coming to find out the older they get the less they poop once breastfed. Our bodies are amazing what we can provide for our babies. @ab good job breastfeeding

Yup yup and yup! Good for you on researching and digging deeper instead of trying to force him to poop. My baby would go almost 2 weeks, happily. Now with solids mixed in, it can be up to 4 days so far.

Lol @queeneden that's me. I either call the dr or read up. I read they can go up to two weeks as you said without pooping once breastfeeding. Wish we all have that opportunity to breastfeed. That's my wish for all my mommies.
