How many people are using cloth diapers? It seems so messy but I would love to save the $$.

it's not messy and it's worth it. if you are worried about the poop then buy disposable liners or lay a shop towel in there. you get a 5 gallon bucket and put in water and vinegar and throw in the diapers after changing. then every 2-4 days simply dump in the washer. the only complicated thing is prepping them (washing them at least 5 times before use) and washing the liners and covers separate. the covers usually have to be air dried.

@machelle137, how many covers and diapers do you have?

you will need about 24 give or take. the covers you could do with less because you can use them a few times unless the baby leaks through. just change the liner.

We are doing cloth with this one. so far I have 20 diapers, and after baby comes I'm going to get some gender specific ones.

@inkedmamaof4, @machelle137 i think I'll pick some up and use both. See how it goes. It will be summer time so I could always line dry the covers. 😉
