please send prayers for my baby...im 21weeks and just hot a call I have to be at UT the 1st for an ultrasound because in my last one they believe one of babies kidneys is smaller than the other and I'm so worried and stressed..I've never been told anything like this and I'm so terrified. :( I've just wanted to cry the whole time since being told this.
Well the thing is if the baby's kidney is dilated now that doesn't mean it will be later on.
its a maternity center, they are very different than hospitals and here if you have any pregnancy complications they consider you high risk. i wont know anything till the first and i would prefer if it wasn't dilated at all I did go to the most crappy of hospitals for my last ultra sound...@babysperano,
@mrs.n.mr.awesome, why wouldn't they take you if you become high risk. And normally if it is slightly dilated they won't make you high risk. Do you know how dilated it is? If it's between 1-5 mm they won't make you high risk. They just have to tell you that the babies kidney is dilated. It's protocol. I am high risk for other reasons, but have found out that a couple others that I know are pregnant their babies kidney is dilated and they didn't become high risk.
@cheche27, it could very well be that my step son was born with one...he came out peeing everywhere and was fine...but it will change my risk factor so I won't be able to have my kid at the maternity center...its the reason I hope they are just going crazy and at the place where I got my last ultrasound.. I wouldn't doubt it..they are fairly ignorant
Oh okay I'm asking cause I was told my baby had a dilated kidney @mrs.n.mr.awesome
@babysperano, I'm worried because it could change the risk of my pregnancy and the place I have been going won't take me if I have complications or become high risk....I just want to have me baby at the same place I've had my others and natural...
@cheche27, I've heard of it but at the moment they won't tell me anything
Don't worry too much it's not healthy. My baby's left kidney is dilated and I've known for two months now. Actually next Thursday we get to check on little mans kidneys again to see if they have progressed. It happens quite often, just relax and breath. They will give you more information. For most baby's it goes away on its on for others you can use antibiotics and very few have to have surgery when they are born.
@babysperano, yeah I know my stepson had one and was fine one her peed. it still don't change the fact that if it is my baby will have to be had somewhere else, most likely at home since I don't believe in having babies at hospitals @babysperano
