anyone find out they were carrying twins at their 18 week sono?

You would find out much sooner. I found out at 12 weeks. And that was my first sonogram. Have you not had a sonogram yet?

I have heard of multiple occasions where they don't see them till a later scan due to one hiding. But it's so very rare. But it HAS happened before, but honestly if you did have twins they would be apparent very early on.

I kinda did. I had one hiding behind the other and sadly lost one but at first I thought I only had one. Found we had two and something went wrong with the one. Sometimes they dont always show up right away theres been women thinking they have one and end up birthing two even with all the technology we have today.

I had a sono at 6 weeks and haven't had one since. but they gave me two heart rates and didn't even look closer to see if there were two sacs or babies, the lady who preformed the sono was in training so the other lady just blew it off and said she wasn't efficient enough yet, I told my ob and she said she won't do one until 18 weeks and I'll find out then. but I tested positive before I should have, I've been super sick (diagnosed with hyperemesis) and I've grown really fast and felt movement before everyone said I should, I caught kicks on camera at 14 weeks 😍 I also have twins on both my mom and dad's side, and I've found more than one heart beat on my home doppler but I guess that doesn't count since I'm not a professional, idk I just really would like to know for sure if I'm having one baby or two! @niki664 @twinscomingsoon

awww:) well the sono lady probably couldn't tell since she was new. But hopefully at your next scan you will find out for sure! its weird though if you were able to find two heart rates they should have looked into your findings at the doctor's office.

That very well could be it but also babies heart beats can change. They will not have the same heartbeat all the time or even within minutes apart. Its going to be a waiting game for you it sounds like. It seems like you may have the genetics for twins but its not always guarenteed you will have twins but not out of the question. It will probably be a waiting game to see. Mine ended up being on the same placenta and they didnt get enough. Just wait for your ob make sure you stay hydrated (half sprite/half gatorade mix was a life saver during my hyperemesis) and just continue to take prenatals and see what your ob says.

I even told her I found two and asked if she would look more and she said she had no reason to. I've just been having more weird dreams and it's scary! I hope it's only one, I think finding out that late that their was two I'd feel unprepared and start stressing@temp

@kaylaweilert, just relax. It may still be one. Stress is not going to be your friend here. My step mother in law had twins and she was 17 and shes doing fantastic. She has two gorgeous gals. Itll be okay either way. Wait for your ultrasound you may still have one or could have too.

From your 6 week ultrasound it doesn't look like twins. But only time will tell. With my twins I didn't feel real movement until almost 20 weeks.

Yesterday I started thinking maybe I was having twins also because I'm much bigger than my twin sister was at this time of her pregnancy. I think I also found two heartbeats on my Doppler yesterday, but I could have been wrong! I have also felt flutters since the beginning of my 13th week. I had an ultrasound done at 11 weeks & 4 days so I know there's only one. I have another ultrasound today so I should know for sure!

The left is before I got pregnant & the right was from yesterday. I was even sucking in too.

And then this is my twin sister around the same time. This was her not sucking in. Basically her bloat is what she told me.
