That's rude that's the whole point of a baby shower...that's why I've been telling my mom I don't want one for that reason cause my mom will go way over the top and I tell her that money that she spends on the baby shower can go to him just go buy whatever you want him to have I'm not trying to have her spend thousands for people to come empty handed eat and leave with a gift that's not fair...

I got ONE box of pampers and wipes, a few blankets, onsies and socks. I got a bouncer thing and a couple of bibs. Somebody actually left a receipt in their gift bag from the dollar store, they spent like $16 on baby and the receipt had other miscellaneous stuff on it like bleach and tissue, didn't even have the decency to get a gift receipt.
