so, if I don't have any complications, just wondering, but what would be the earliest I could ask to be induced without sounding crazy? and how exactly do they induce a woman? is it a shot or....? Lol I'm so lost in the dark with this topic!
If its not a huge difference in size they may just ignore it.. I wouldnt stress the due date too much either, baby will come when hes ready regardless of the date they gave u. My daughter came 2 weeks early no warning nothing, perfectly healthy. They very well could be off on ur date, try not to worry..
Every thing they said is true. Induction tends to make labor longer and harder, more painful for momma and more stressful for baby, so it's normally only used in necessary cases. But to answer your question, induction is normally done with an pitocin drip. Its a medication they put in your IV to encourage contractions, and they sometimes use it in conjunction with a pill inserted vaginally to soften your cervix. They may break the water additionally.
There are other ways to encourage labor without true induction that can help speed it up if your body is ready. But if it is not it can be very dangerous for you and baby to try to force it.
Yea mostly, its not usually one of those things u just tell ur dr ud like. They might look at u like ur crazy lol and honestly its not something most women want.. A lot of times women that have to be induced are not looking forward to it. They do it if baby is measuring big, if there's blood pressure issues, health risks for baby or mom.. Things like that..
