3 questions: 1. what do they do at the growth scan other than measure the baby, will I get sonograms? 2. when will they start the use the strap on heart beat monitor thing? 3. when will they start to check and see of I am dilated?
I forgot to mention that the BPP ultrasound is different than the growth scan....they don't measure the baby's parts, just check how well the organs are functioning. I had a growth scan a few weeks ago and then next is in a couple of weeks.
I go twice a week for NST and BPP (ultrasound). My baby is measuring small and I have an abnormally shaped placenta. So at the US they check the placenta and also baby has to practice breathe for 30 seconds consistently. They measure amniotic fluid, too. The tech usually gives me pics if she can get them. Then the next day I get hooked up to the NST machine and baby has to have 20 good heartbeat accelerations. As of they want to make sure I'm not having contractions. It usually lasts about 20-30 minutes. I started early at 28 weeks. Sorry this post is so long!
They usually strap the monitor on if you go in with issues or you're getting an NST you should be able to get pictures of you get US ask them and dilation is checked for possibly after 36 weeks I've been checked early because I've already has contractions and such I've been monitored to check baby
idk what a growth scan is have to skip that one lol..they use the strap on things when you in the hospital and they want to continuously monitor heart beat and contractions..and in your ninth month sometime depending on your doctor. mine didn't wanna check till I was 40 weeks or complained of contractions
it's ok lol, thanks @bubblebeck
