I know you'll be able to express small amounts of colostrum at first,my milk came in after four days. I was always told to exclusively breastfeed for at least six weeks before introducing bottles to stop nipple confusion but I know many women give both straight away with no problems xxxx

Sorry @jem29 im at it again😂 I know my niece really really wanted to help me feed and as I didn't want to express she just pats my boobs when I feed to 'help me give milk to the baby' xxx

@darciepenny, you said exactly what I was thinking, I can express my colostrum like crazy but midwives said don't confuse her with a bottle. and omg that is sooooooo cute. my baby won't need help my boob is actually bigger than her head LOL like an eclipse 😂

@darciepenny, LOL well if it makes you feel any better my boulders are equally hard to position without cutting off her air supply lol. your boyfriend is a darling, mine's been the same he's done nappies as he can't do the bottles 💜

I did both bottle and breast from two weeks with no problems with the nipple confusion.. As above my milk didn't come in until about day 4.. You have to keep feeding and exclusively feed to get your supply so no missing feeds etc.. Same when expressing.. If you miss a feed your body will think it's no longer needed and then your supply will drop.. I was told also 6 weeks before expressing and I started around 2 weeks and it badly effected my supply so definitely don't start until you've got your supply established.. I ended up formula feeding due to that.. X

@darciepenny, oh my heart! that is so adorable. are there any daddy and baby groups where you live?

Like @emmajo said, If you are expressing definitely make sure you don't miss any, you don't want your supply to drop, i think that's why I found it easier to just use Breast, I still feed on demand although now he's in a routine so it's not as often, it's hard at fest, they want feeding constantly but I promise as soon as feeding is established its sooo much easier!! And @jem29 I don't think so:( we have a huge park near by so he's forever pushing the pram round there, he works an awful lot so weekend is daddy and baby time xxx
