Ftm my son was born via csection two weeks ago on Tuesday and he has been in the NICU since. The only reason he is in there is because he doesn't drink a whole 2 oz bottle in a half hour he drinks about half or a little over a half. He was born at 34 weeks and I feel like its a stupid reason for him to be in there his belly is only so small and there shoving formula into his stomach with a feeding tube. He has been gaining weight and has enough soiled diapers to know he is consuming enough.

@amaperalta03, I would assume that's what they want and then they would take him off his tube for two days to make sure he doesn't need it back. He has drank three whole bottles in a row and most of the bottle the rest of the time. Its so hard leaving him.

@teemarie1994, they just want him to do it every feed for 24 hours right ? I know it's hard I cried every day but not anyone can just be a nicu mom. It was hard but I'd never change the experience for nothing

@amaperalta03, i hate leaving him behind every night. He has drank full bottles so they know he can do it.

I went thru the same exact thing my daughter was born at 29 weeks and had a 40 day nicu stay. The last two weeks felt the longest because every day was like a test to see if she could pass so she could go home. Be positive they are doing this for the benefit of your baby. Hopefully he'll be home any day now.
