We r taking our kids to the Memphis Zoo and the Bass Pro Shop on April 5th. Anyone know some good kids friendly places to eat up in Memphis or Nashville?
Basspro, the Peabody, Beale, they're all downtown. Right off of the Mississippi. You can see the pyramid literally right off of the river.
Some of the best BBQ can be found in memphis! Corkys, and Rendezvous are two of the best. The Peabody is downtown pretty close to AutoZone park where the redbirds play, itd be fun if there was a minor league game going around that time. They're pretty cheap and fun to go to. The Memphis zoo is in MidTown, where all of the old plantation homes and mansions are, lol. They aren't THAT far away from each other, but with traffic its still be a little bit of a drive.
Haha, no problem! I actually grew up in Memphis before moving to West Memphis (arkansas) and moving away for good at around 19. There really are a bunch of fun things. I haven't found a zoo that touches on the Memphis zoo since leaving! The pink palace was an old plantation mansion that was sold for taxes and turned into a museum. it's gorgeous. it has an awesome Imax and planetarium, and the Children's Museum of Memphis has a whole section dedicated to physics and aerospace, as well as another to the heart! It's super cool. There's also other museums, like the Brooks art museum or the civil rights museum. of course there is also Graceland and beale street, although that's less family friendly.
tbh I been craving bbq. Is the Peabody mall anywhere close to the zoo? I'm not very familiar with the area. lol
If you're a fan of BBQ, Corkys BBQ is some of the best. The Peabody still has the duck walk, there's an arcade/grille called Jullians at the Peabody Mall. If I'm not mistaken there is also still a summer drive in theater, I think it is off of Stage Rd.
@babyreeves, Thank you so much! this is going to be a great help to finish planning this trip!
It's called the Art Project Memphis. Kooky Kanooks is a place to eat downtown. It was previously Big Foots Cafe but they got sued for copy right when they were featured on Man VS food.
I didn't know Memphis had a children's museum. where and how much if u know? and what is a kooky kanooks?
I believe there's also a Hardrock Cafe. I haven't lived in Memphis since 2011, but I have heard they recently opened an arts and crafts kind of place for kids where they can draw on chalk walls and paint things. I'll have to look it up for you.
The Memphis zoo is one of the best! You could also check out the Pink Palace Museum or the Memphis Children's Museum. Some of my favorite places in Memphis. I can't really speak for Nashville as I've only been on the strip and it's all bars and clubs. As for kid friendly places to eat, there's the Rainforest Cafe, Kooky Kanooks, the Memphis zoo has a backyard burger by the cat palace, the spaghetti warehouse.
good luck! if you have any more questions, let me know!
