Towel, shampoo and conditioner for a shower :) Clothes for discharge etc :) Dressing gown? All I needed was cotton wool , nappies, nappy sacks and clothes for the baby :) a few blankets :) a toothbrush and discharge clothes :) I was in for 4 days and was in the hospital gown all that time. Only put my own clothes on when I was discharged :) You'll need breast pads and a maternity bra :) My milk didn't come in until day 3 :) so by day 4 my milk was leaking :) This all depends how long you will stay in :) I had no idea that I would go through complications which needed me to stay in for 4 days xx

@abs645 A packet of size 1(42 nappies I think) was more than enough for my 4 day stay at hospital :) I put in 4/5 I think :) Which was also enough. Only changed her outfit because her first outfit had blood on it from birth...then he second outfit got poo on it...think she weed on one outfit :) Then I had a coming home outfit :) xx

Big black grannie knickers ones to go over your belly for comfort.. Lip balm (you'll need it) hair bobbles and clips to get hair out your face.. Tablet & charger or magazines, comfy clothes (you most probably won't feel up to trying to dress all glamorous) slippers, dressing gown, pjs, something simple to wear during labour (I laboured in just a plain black vest tbh), socks, mints or throat sweets, isotonic drinks, maternity pads.. Plenty of them! Empty plastic bag for any dirty clothes.. Flat comfy shoes to go home in, make up if you want, hair brush, toiletries for a shower/bath.. Towel (most hospitals provide them though).. Deodorant.. Xx

I forgot about drinks and snacks:) but I didn't feel like eating during labour :) My hospital provided you with sandwiches and orange, apple and pineapple juice :) Had a midwife giving water and juice to me often :) My OH was also giving me water xx

Blanket for baby, depending on how long you're in there (I was out 13hrs after birth) I took a couple vests and sleep suits and then a going home outfit.. Car seat. Socks for baby as their circulation is bad when they're new born so their hands and feet get very, very cold. Nappies, I think I had about 5/6 with me.. Didn't need any more than that as wasn't a long stay. Xx

lip balm, and Breastpads were a necessity for me, I didn't take bottle because I was scared of giving up too easily (glad I didn't now) xxxx

I would really suggest getting a lactation consultant to come as soon as you've given birth, get some really good nipple cream! It's hard but as long as the latch is okay it shouldn't hurt!xxx
