I separated from my fiance because he isn't a Christian. And I am. we were together for a year and are having a baby. But I have been trying to do what I feel God is leading me to do. But at the same time...if we are happy together and our relationship works...is it so wrong for us to want to be together?

I think it would work best if you both were christian... but it can work that way too. my aunt is a devout Catholic and her husband is a Jehovah's witness. very very different in their beliefs and ideals but they've been married for over 18 years and extremely in love. you just gotta respect each others beliefs.. I know my fiancé are both Christians . but I'd love him anyway!"

I don't think God would want you to separate yourself from him. I recommend the book "Experiencing God." Speak life and light around him. Tell him about the peace God gives you. If he loves you, God is working in him. It's not your job to convert him, but to love him. if you love in the light, God will do the rest

I don't see a problem with it. I was raised Catholic to be exact and the father of my children is Muslim. We aren't heavy into our religion like we use to be but we both have a mutual understanding with God and how we want to raise our kids. We aren't together at the moment because we have a lot going on but I still love him and want to be with him and him the same. Follow your heart because that is where God talks to you 💖

@showersoverflowers I agree with you. but my mom and grandmother have a very different opinion. he and I do plan to get back together once he makes some responsibility changes. But I don't think they realize that.

My grandma was a devoted Christian and my grandpa didn't believe at all. It took years, but after a lot of praying and dedication, my grandpa finally became a Christian with my grandmas help.

2 Corinthians 6:14 - Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
Colossians 4:5-6 - Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time

@brittneylove, how does that work? My so is a JW. In my opinion one person ends up taking a back seat to their beliefs and one is more into the religion than the other. I'm a strong Christian. We communicate a lot about it, but I am always curious about what happens if both of them have strong beliefs like we do.

I don't believe religion should be enough to keep you two apart. I believe if you both love and respect each other's beliefs then it could work. Who knows he may switch over to yours. Just share love and let that be yalls focus.

my Bf of 5 years (we were engaged for 1 year or so) but now we're not, My choice. He is on the fence about it, being in my opinion he believes but than he doesn't. I just pray that god help me grow enough where i can be an example to him. pray for you, him, baby and the relationship as a family.

The Bible does say not to keep company with wickedness but it also says to walk towards the lost. I know it's tough to understand... My own mother is not a believer but I still talk about all the good God brings to me whenever we speak. We are commanded not to judge others...

I'm not 100% sure but I'm sure they have issues that they have to work through daily. but I know that the both go to church. just not together. my cousins get to have holidays. their dad just doesn't necessarily take part. he is there to celebrate with them.. just not for himself. again I'm not exactly sure nut they definitely have made it work this long lol @lalamichelle0707

from an outsiders view.... I am not Christian or catholic or anything.
but in my opinion 1. your supposed to be married before you have sex and have a baby
2. your supposed to get married if you did have sex and are having a baby
the point is religion didn't stop you prior so this just sounds like your nervous or have cold feet. difference in religion should not determine a relationship because if it had originally you wouldn't be having a baby with him. I know it's looked down upon in these religions to be a single mother. so maybe you just need to look at if your happy with him you should just deal because you've already broken religious rules resulting in where you are today. it doesn't make sense to break it off now.

@lovely_girl211, I really hope things work out for u girl and ur in a hard place only God knows what's best. Just want to say couple things not trying to be mean u know u can't change a man no matter how old they r. I don't care what anyone says he has to want to change or change for himself. I do believe a man can get better with the right woman and vise versa I hope that's ur case. I only say that bc u said yall aren't together bc he getting his things together. It will never be the perfect time so don't wait forever. 😕I would express to him ur views on Christianity and let him know u plan to raise the baby with the same values and morals u grew up on and understand he's not the same but u hope God can show him what's best for him with time and maybe even though yall's child. On a second note think like a non Christian man. If u don't wear a ring and unmarried when that baby does get here put on ur Sunday best and for baby and u and baby go to church if he cares about u 2 things should click in his head 1. Another good man going to steal u at church and accept baby 2.dang I need to step up and be a man with God or not I'm not letting her go alone if neither happen and u go couple weeks just u and baby at that point I would have to make major relationship changes. Hope this help praying for yall 🙏🏻

oh and one last reason is difference in beliefs good enough for your child to not be raised by mother and father under the same roof? to go without both parents? seperated parents?

You do what you feel is right and pray for your husband, we don't why God brings people into our lives he may have brought you guys together for you to bring your husband closer to him(God).

I have dated plenty of men who were not Christians! My husband is baptist, kind of. He only is because his family is. We are extremely happy and don't let our religions get in the way of that. He does say he prays more now that we are together than he ever did before.
