Do you have to rear face the car seat when they're new borns?

If you look up the reasons for rear facing, and what happens in an accident if they forward face too soon.. I think you will choose to rear face your baby. They are something like 500% safer rear facing.

Most states require rear facing until they're 2.

yes by law they have to be rearfaced until a certain weight or age dont remember mine will rearface until 2
