Yes u have the right to ask questions about how to not get induced Ik I did if it's not recommend by your ob and u haven't been told ur high risk and if all ur test came back ok then it shouldn't be a problem about u not getting induced so I would ask my doctor

Absolutely!! there is no reason at All to get induced other then if continuing the pregnancy will cause harm to the baby or mom. Most inductions now days are convenience for Doctor or momma.

you can refuse induction if that's what you want. but if you go so far over and baby doesnt come out I do believe vaginal birth will be questionable depending on how big baby gets after you've gone so far over your due date. like..3 weeks. but you have every right to refuse induction before your due date if it's not medical issue. but usually doctors Induce if there's a legitimate reason.

I wouldn't want to go way over my due date, but I know my OB induces at 39 weeks for most people. I'd rather just see if she'll come on her own first and then if not, be induced. Thanks ladies! @vjones24 @bjeff @xbbycolletto

Yeah, I didn't think so either but apparently my OB likes to induce at 39 weeks and I don't want that unless it's needed. @shananaginsx

I'm sure if you let your ob know, they'll consider it. my ob doesn't normally induce like that either but in my case I live too far from the hospital and I've been to Labor and delivery 3 times in one week with non progressing dilation, but legitimat labor contractions. so In a sense I'm not really a medical Case but we're not taking any chances on anything bc of distance. so he was open to that route. so I'll be induced at 39 weeks and 2 days on Tuesday. but ob's usually respect your plan! so definitely just let them know induction isn't the way you want to go unless it's absolutely needed.

Oh wow! Well in your case, I would want to be induced also!! That's so exciting though!! Congrats!! Luckily the hospital I'm going to be delivering at is literally 5 minutes away! Okay, I will! I just didn't know if you were allowed to do that, but I guess they can't really "force" you to do anything unless medically needed. @xbbycolletto

It's not recommended medically to induce before 40wks unless it's an emergency. If your doctor is prone to induce at 39wks out of convenience he could get in trouble. I would change doctors. Remember to do your research, induction is not with out risk.
