Why is it that so many women want to be induced instead of waiting for labor to start naturally? I mean if it isn't anything medically wrong why not wait? I get it everyone is anxious to meet their baby, but me personally I think the less medical intervention the better. Thoughts?

I think it's more of how it's taking a toll on their bodies and the pain rather than being anxious. Everyone's different though (:

That true but some times going passed the recommended 2 weeks passed your due date is very dangerous for the baby...that and sometimes the baby is either too big or getting big that it's safer to induce

for me personally, it's not about being anxious. if i had a smooth pregnancy then I'd wait but it's from always being in pain, not geting enough sleep from pain n sickness.

right! I had to be induced with my son, I'm praying that my girl will come on her own!

to each his own and whatever the doctor recommends ... me personally I have gestational diabetes and am 39 wks 5 days so doc will induce me on Tuesday of next week (due date is Sunday) bc the baby is fully cooked and developed by then and the placenta can start to deteriorate if you wait too long

some people get to the point they can't take the physical pain. but I agree with you. I'd rather it happen on its own.
