i smoke everyday if i dont i cant eat and im stressed and emotional and i feel like all that is worse than smoking...

I've read that they really only care about hard drugs (which of course I've never done) but I'm still afraid/: it doesn't mean I love my son any less. I love him so much and that's why I do it. if not I would of never gained weight and he wouldn't be doing as amazing as he is. it's hard because I'd like to quit but I don't want to eat and I'm miserable and stressed if I dont... and it's like what if he hasn't tested me and isn't worried about it but what if I bring it up and he is upset about it and chooses to take action....

@stephnagy2, yeah I totally understand. I feel the same way bout talkin to my doc bout it. But I was honest wit em from the beginning so I have a feeling he prolly assume I'm still smoking if he doesn't test me every doc appointment .

I've smoked throughout my pregnancy but only from glass. I heard blunts are a no no because of the paper (I could also be wrong) I told my doctor I smoked before I got pregnant and I quit for a while but then I never stopped getting sick so I started again because I'd rather be able to nourish my baby then throw up everything I eat. it also helps me sleep of course. idk if they have tested me throughout my pregnancy but I'm scared to bring it up to my doctor on Tuesday out of fear of what he'll say about the laws in PA...

I actually saw another post like this and commented on that one too. I work in a medical marijuana dispensary in AZ and we work with a very knowledgeable medical director (naturopathic doctor who specializes in herb). I asked him these same questions because I was curious (I'm pregnant but I quit smoking mj because it's not my baby). He told me that studies on woman who smoke marijuana during pregnancy have been inconclusive because a lot of those same women smoke cigarettes so the findings aren't valid against mj. There's concern that smoking marijuana can mj can cause babies to be born smaller because inhaling momentarily lowers the amount of oxygen reaching the baby in the blood stream. I know plenty of women who smoked during pregnancy and have perfectly healthy babies of course. He did say that injesting or vaping marijuana might be a much safer route if there is concern of how smoking it will affect the baby. Hope this helps! ♡

@msshannmommy2b, yeah Neva doubted my research - I never found anything that said it could possibly cause harm n I know plenty of people who did they thang. But I just don't wanna lose my baby girl over a blunt. That's my only worry really

My mom has 9 kids , all perfectly healthy and she smokes weed every day lmao I don't smoke at all but a few people was trying to get me too at the beginning of my pregnancy to help with the severe nausea smh ... But like I said all 9 of us were and still are perfectly healthy ! I'm 27 no effects then and none now lol smoke on 😩💨

Please do not smoke anything while you are pregnant. I smoked weed with my last pregnancy before this one and CPS was all in my business. So if you feel like putting up with them and possibly losing your child to the state then go ahead. Im just telling you what ive been through, and trust and believe me its so not worth it.

It stays in babies stool for 3 months... But weed has no clinical effect on the fetus my dr is from Cali and said that

@babymay2016, I was scared I'd possibly go into early labor too! I was at 33 weeks like "ahhh, I should've quit sooner!" but I made it all the way to 39 weeks anyways lol!! I was peeing in a cup attached to the toilet cause they were worried that I wasn't peeing enough, but idk if they tested it or not. I wasn't worried at that point anyways

No problem momma. I was really curious about it also and I don't believe it has any harmful effects on baby, but just the other stuff that made my decision final. I agree with what @kattastrophe said though. It could stay in the babies system for longer and that is why I quit now instead of a month before or whatever. Also god forbid anybody go into labor early, but I was also afraid of not quitting soon enough and maybe having baby early. I would say now is a good time to quit, but that is just my opinion and choice for myself ☺

I would say to stop a month before ur due to be on the safe side. Weed is legal in DC now n they don't do all that extra stuff over a little weed.

@kbogzxo, no it has not. they TRIED to link it, but there was no definite connection between the two. if that were true, there would also be a higher rate of miscarriage, and there's no link there either.

I totally don't think your a bad mom for smoking and I fully believe it doesn't cause any harm to the baby. The ONLY reason I'm not smoking any more is because of just even the small chance of my son getting taken away or me getting in trouble legally which then he would still get taken away. Also I don't want my babies father to have anything on me. I don't want even a single tiny reason anybody would question me. I just smoked for the last time last week and I am 30wks pregnant. I love marijuana and I will be smoking again later in my life, but not for at least a year probably. Good luck momma 💚

it definitely does depend on your state, I live in California, and everyone knows how laidback cali is about the herbical lol. that being said, I stopped at 30 weeks on the dot because I kept reading about how since the baby is working on building fat, and marijuana is stored in fat cells, it could take 90 days instead of 30 to flush out. in California, they won't send you to jail or take the baby, but CPS will be randomly knocking on the door, and that sounded horrible to me. I had been tapering off for the whole pregnancy, so it wasn't a big transition to stop. I was only at 2 hits a day at the end.

See that's my worry as well. I don't wanna be considered an offal person or a bad parent because I do smoke. I don't want my baby girl in anybody else arms but mine... But I have not heard about any laws so that's new to me ... I'm def gonna stop cuz I can't have that chance of my baby girl getting taking or me goin to jail. Not a risk I'm willing to take. @janaesmommy, marijuana doesn't do anything to babies many people just frown upon it.

See I don't think I have any of those issues anymore I did in beginning of pregnancy I used to get super sick every day all day. But I'm 30 weeks now. N I'd have to admit I'm a major "pothead" ... I've slowed down of course but I still smoke up to two blunts a day, I did my research an of course there arnt any resent studies done on all that but I haven't been able to find any kind of proof that it could be harming my baby girl. Every time I go to doc he says my baby girl healthy . But I just get so much negative feed back because everyone got they mind set that it's just like any other drug. (Witch it most def isn't )

I did the first few months (which helped me not be so nauseous and also quit cigarettes easier) and then I have once a month pretty much. I just now stopped for good though after reading some stuff about new laws where they can actually put you in jail for smoking while pregnant, if your baby has marijuana in their system at birth. I have no idea what state this is in and didn't really look into it honestly, but that was enough to scare me. I didn't smoke much anymore anyways but it definitely isn't worth it. My doctor never said anything negative about it and it did help me those first few months. I really have nothing against it and don't believe it does any harm but it is illegal in my state and I don't want to take any chances. I will most definitely smoke again in my life but I just won't be smoking again until probably after I have given birth and am also done breast feeding. Yeah, most likely nothing will happen, but legally it scares the hell out of me having ANY reason someone could question my ability to be a parent or try to take my son away or put me in jail for I think it is now considered ASSAULT. But like I said I didn't look tooooo much into that, but it has happened a few times recently with new laws somewhere in the US.

😉......... as long as you haven't said anything to your doctor about it. they'll only test maconium (spelling?) if they have any reason to think you were smoking during or even before pregnancy..... it's fine though, it helps with nausea too, I think it's better than some of the pharmaceuticals they prescribe. it's a good idea to stop well before the due date though, just in case they decide to urine test like some hospitals mandate after birth. my hospital didn't have mandatory tests, but the one 15 minutes away does.

I do for anxiety n nausea as opposed to take my meds. My doc is fine with it.
