How come so many moms-to-be on here have 3d ultrasounds of their babies in the third trimester? i went to my 30 week apt…

We paid for an extra non hospital u/s to find out what we were having early... Paid 75 bucks for it and plan on doing it again soon to see her face 😊 it's so fun! They can't diagnose anything but at least you can see them!

@mrscarter27 mine was too! they arent even that clear and because she kept moving her profile is all blurry and no 3d of her teeny face. im just impatient and want to see her lil face :(

yes I thought I would get more of them. I'm like my scan was crappy I should get more photos uh.

yes that's when my last one was. I paid out of pocket unless you have a high risk pregnancy they like to be stingy with the ultrasounds

Yes private place. Doctor would only do 2, I couldn't even pay for them from the doctor plus I wanted 3D/4D.

@jacesterlingsmommy yep theyve measured me twice im at 30 cm. so that is a private place not a doctors office that you googled? im def gonna check when i get home. i just want one more and i dont think there should have to be something wrong with the baby or i have to pay $300 just to see her.

Have they not measured your belly yet? I had my appointment yesterday and that's the 1st time she measured me but she says he's measuring perfect. I was worried since I haven't gained any weight.

My doctors office doesn't even have the capability to do 3D and I will probably end up only having 1 baby so I wanted to make the most of it. The gender reveal I had done at 14 weeks was $60 then $89 for next week but they did have packages up to $500! Granted it was like 7 ultrasounds total but dang it's expensive. I live in a rural area and the place is an hour away from me so I didn't have many options unless I went to big city St. Louis, MO but I know those places cost more. Hopefully you find something cheaper! :)

@lilfree16 yeah im in va and thats what she told me yesterday unless she was trying to discourage me but i dont think they can lie. i mean it literally takes less than 10 minutes to pour on the jelly and look. i dont see how tbat costs almost 300 bucks!! thats ridiculous!!

Call around and see if there's any other private ultrasound places in your area and compare prices, that's what I did and some places were several hundred dollars. Luckily the place I'm going was running a special for 30 minutes.

@lilfree16 see i dont get why docs offices do things different? i just figured that they would do one towards the end so you could see your baby developed. and the lady looked at me like i was crazy for even asking

thanks ladies!! i just do not understand why the hell i have to pay like $260 for mine when everyone else only has to pay $100 ill probably schedule one because i havent even gotten to see her face i figured that is necessary and that they wouldve scheduled another. at least 3 ultrasounds sounds right cuz all i do at these apts. they check my vitals and then her heartbeat and i leave. ive only ever peed in a cup one time and got my blood drawn once both at the first apt. i thought they were supposed to check everytime?

usually you will get only two if you have a normal pregnancy the 3d is extra and insurance usually won't cover for it. I got mine at over 30 weeks and I paid 109 for it .

my OB normally only does 2, one to confirm pregnancy at 8-12 weeks, and the anatomy scan at 20 weeks. I had a very low placenta at 20 weeks so I am going to have another scan in about 2 weeks to see if it moved, but if it weren't for that I wouldn't have another one. usually a doctor only requests more then 2 if it's medically indicated to be necessary.

there are some places that do 3d ultrasound but you have to pay. I had mine done because my doc wouldn't do one and I paid$120 @hailholla1412

Mine only gave me 2. I paid out of pocket for 2. I have my last one at 29 weeks next Wednesday. But I'd totally feel the same way if I didn't get to see him since 20 weeks until birth. Mine was only $89 and it was so nice, quiet and relaxing, no rushing.

@trinitysmommy ok it just pisses me off lol. sometimes i feel like they place is so professional and sometimes i feel like they are just rushing to get to the next apt.

it depends on the hospital and doctor. you can request it sometimes but you will have to pay for it
