I have a question for formula feeding mommies: I am baby sitting this Saturday for a friend of the family, he is a foster child and only 3 or 4 weeks old now, and obviously formula fed. I'm just a lil nervous because I've never formula fed a baby before, in fact my daughter has never even taken a bottle of breast milk! So any advice for me? lol I know (last week at least) they try and get him to drink 3oz every feed, I think he was on an every 3 hour schedule but not completely certain....I've never mixed formula before, I don't even know if I should be using bottled water or like, baby water or what lol....I'm sure she'll give me what I need for it and maybe even pre measured, I just wanna be prepared and feel confident about it lol Saturday will be a dry run for me, not only to see what it's like to have two kids (which as soon as we can afford a 2 bedroom I'm trynna talk my man into trying for) but also the 1st of April the husband, who stays home on disability while the wife works, is having surgery for his corpal tunnel (excuse me if I spelled that wrong lol mommy brain) and I agreed to help him for a few days with feeds and changes while he recovers......

I don't formula feed either but when I almost gave up I gave my daughter a bottle of formula once and my boyfriend flipped out bc I didn't shake the bottle for a really long time and later his sister told me I have to for long also. So just make sure you really shake that stuff up really good and burp him after bc it's not as easy on their stomach as breast milk so expect throw ip

there's really nothing to it if she doesn't bring you what you need. you could use either bottle water or baby water. & if he's still on 3 oz you do 1 scoop & a half the rule is 1 scoop per every 2 oz. make sure to burp after every ounce to avoid gas that's about it

Use baby water. Every 2 oz you put one scoop of formula. Shake well and feed. I personally don't like doing half a scoop I would just make 4 oz bottle and whatever you don't use you pour down the drain since after an hour you can no longer use once the baby has ate. It also has the directions on the formula can when you have questions
