It can be a little selfish to think "well you wanted me to have this baby shower so you pay for it" when in reality I will benefit from it

I guess my family operate a little different yes ppl help but if its my baby shower then I'm not expecting anyone else to pay for it my cousin is going to plan it but I'm not expecting her to pay for it

Yeah my shower is Saturday and I bought a few specific things that I wanted added but all the major things and cost my mother and MIL are paying for.

@emmarosemommy, I felt bad at first but then after talking to my mom about it she said I shouldn't feel bad she offered to do the shower she should be prepared to pay for it. If not she shouldn't do one.

@emmarosemommy, yeah we're trying to get out of my parents house and get our own apt. We buy our own groceries and everything else we need. We have some savings but we need that for down payments and anything else well need for our twins. I was kinda upset when she asked cause it's like dang why offer to do the shower then ask us to pay for stuff when she knows we're trying to get on our feet before the babies come.

You really shouldn't be paying for anything if someone else is planning it for you. My mother in law asked us to pay for the food and we have to tell her no because we can't afford to. My mom is also planning a shower for me and she is taking care of everything.
