@ynm1990, @kelseys @janinee @cedez2012 @tamaraalynne00 I am going home to see if my hubby will take me to the doctor or if im going alone. and here at my job im a door greeter I was originally and cashier when I started when I found out I was pregnant I talk to my doctor about my past miscarriages and she put me on a 25 weight limit I was originally and cashier when I started when I found out I was pregnant I talk to my doctor about my past miscarriages and she put me on a 25 wait limit so they moved me to the door and you have to have an accommodation to sit down you have to have an accommodation for a pretty much everything that's not regulation so because I'm on a 25 wait limit I am allowed to be on the door because it the 10 weight limit but you have to have specific instructions saying that I can sit down when I need to when I have trouble breathing I have asthma and it did act up in my first pregnancy a little later on but I put on a little more weight since then so I only hope that the pain in my side is not one of my vital organs hurting this bad and I think the shortness of breath is from my asthma so I'm going to figure out what's going on and see if I need to relax this pregnancy I didn't work with my first one

@ynm1990, yes they should. I understand that calling in the day of makes things harder on the staff because they're short on people that they need, that's why I've always call in way before the 2hours like they asked so they can find someone to come in, but I left early once because I couldn't stop trowing up and my manager got mad at me even tho it was my first time. and I feel bad for this girl because she's obviously in pain and she's scared of loosing her job because retail literally has no sympathy for pregnant women or any worker that has a disadvantage.

@kelseys, you are definitely right! When I worked retail during law school they played no games about attendance because of the weekly schedule change. In corporate if you are exempt/salaried you get paid for 40 hours a week no matter the schedule. And my boss works in another state so it's not as hands on you know. But I seriously think that every job should accommodate pregnant women especially in the first and last trimester.

if your not going to leave then take breaks, sit when you don't have customers, drink plenty of water and let someone know if you start to feel worse.

@ynm1990, what? stores work different than legal departments. I know from my experience in working in retail, which basically has the same rules as food stores, that your schedule changes every week, and if you want a day off, you need to schedule ahead before they make the new schedule, and your only allowed a certain amount of days to call in off, leave early, or be late before they do fire you.. not sure how your job works, but that's retail.

Do you qualify for fmla? that should protect you for times like this. you should speak with HR & see if you qualify for any type of medical leave for your pregnancy.

@kelseys, oh wow. I guess because I'm in the legal department and I'm salaried with a set schedule so maybe that's why they don't bother me. They also let me work from home if I have to. But either way @spoiled4neonpink I wouldn't hesitate! I went to the hospital Monday for something like food poisoning. Your priority is you and your babies health.

girl, your health is far more important than Sam's club. Its better to be safe than sorry.

You're so right. Your baby's life is way more important. If you bring them back a doctors note will they excuse you? They should be understanding especially since you're pregnant.

if you have to go to the Dr. your Dr will be able to give you an excuse.

but call your doctor and see what she wants you to do. go home or to the hospital. your health and the baby is more important and I'm sure they can't fire you for an emergency, and if they do then that's messed up and something that you couldn't control so if they do, call headquarters and talk to someone

@ynm1990, to the work place, it doesn't matter if your pregnant or not, they still expect you to keep up your attendance, and if you need a day off then you have to request it ahead of time for they make a new schedule for the week unless its a set schedule.

But because you are pregnant that's going to be a hard case to beat. Do they know you are pregnant?
