Apparently I'm sick and disgusting because I believe baby boys need to remain intact.
wow, ppl love to shove their opinions down ppls throats don't they?? Smh. that's rediculous that someone would say that to you. I had the hardest time deciding whether to circumcise my son or not. my husband is intact and he likes it but ultimately I decided to do the circumcision because it's easier to keep clean and other personal reasons. let other ppls opinions go in one ear and out the other.
I would brush them off! I was reading a page on FB about so many moms who regret getting their baby circumcised!! Got into it w/the hubby when I brought up not getting it. Said that was "gross" ha. Some people are just immature! Do what you feel is best!! I have read that they can be more prone to infection if they're not but tnere wasn't much else.
@losmartinez and I totally respect that! In my case, I let my boyfriend make the decision as to whether or not to get our son circumcised. He is and he decided that not only because he is but because he had a friend in high school that wasn't circumcised and got a super bad infection and ended up having to get the procedure done when he was 17 almost 18. He told me his friend said it was the absolute worst thing to go through as wn adult and that he wishes he had it done as a baby. Bow obviously infections like that are rare and I'm not saying something like that will happen to a baby that's uncircumcised, that's just part of what influenced my boyfriend's decision for our son. but I think your reasons are completely valid and make a lot of sense, definitely no reason at all to be rude to you about or especially call you names. That's just immature!
@emkasting, you're right. I just feel passion for little babies. I believe in the old saying "If something isn't broken, why fix it"
Sorry someone was rude to you, I have people like that! Like let people have their own opinions and beliefs without feeling the need to shove your own down their throat
@losmartinez, no you absolutely shouldn't be called names or be disrespected in any way just because you have chosen something for your unborn child.
@emkasting, @maybaby2016 @nychic78 my only point is that I shouldn't be called names because I feel he should remain intact. I don't force anyone to believe what they don't want to, but that's my opinion. My daughter didn't get her ears pierced until she was 7. it's her body, so I asked her permission. The same will be done with the one I'm pregnant with. I feel the same with a boy. If a mom chooses, so be it. I was just taken aback when they said I was disgusting for it.
Definitely to each their own! We are circumcising our son when he is born but I would never force what I want for my baby onto someone else! Your baby your choice! Not my business
I a nurse, it is a healthier choice for a baby to be circumsized but it more of a social choice I believe.
oh, I agree with @kayloniandkaismommy I am for circumcision but I am also for you doing what you feel is best for your son. I don't understand why people are always so adamant about forcing their beliefs or opinions on someone else. we should just let each other be, what you do with your son's penis doesn't effect me any so why should it matter? lol
@maybaby2016, these girls on a Facebook page. @kayloniandkaismommy I'm not forceful, but it drives me insane when people ask for opinions, then get mad when they're given.
to each their own :) each person has an opinion on circumcision. some are obviously more forceful with their opinions.
and when you do things like ask your daughter for her permission to pierce her ears you're giving your kids a healthy self esteem and sense of worth when you treat them with that respect. :)
