Anyone have any tips for dogs afraid of storms? Mine won't leave my side and is shaking like crazy..…

Have you tried a "thunder shirt"? It's just like a jacket that pulls tight around their chests to make them feel secure.

You can also talk to a very about anxiety medication for those times if it's really bad. :)

Mine hides in the bathroom too. She hates baths, but always goes in the bathtub when it storms. Crazy girl.

@babyrhea16, @ilyric @sashleythomp @twinmama510 I just feel terrible 😞 this is the first time we've had a thunder storm and we've had him and he won't leave my side, let me move really, he's panting so fast and constant, and he's SWEATING. A LOT.

my winmama_navywife, that makes me so sad. Hopefully the storm passes soon. You should look into a thunder shirt though. They work for most dogs. I've heard a lot of success stories. They're good for other things too like riding in the car and being introduced to new things and going to the vet. My dog is very neurotic; therefore, she's part of the small percentage of dogs they don't work on. We just let her do her own thing until she's calmed down. It's very sad though.

@twinmama510, he's usually very calm, but we think he has some sort of separation anxiety and fear of storms.. 😞

my grandma's dog used to get lie that when she would have to go to the vet, she would work herself up so bad the would be sick. my mom got her a thundercoat and it has helped tremendously!

I have also heard Valor essential oil from Young Living is supposed to help with that stuff
