Did anybody wait a little bit before they imideatly had visitors after having the baby? I kinda…

except for my MIL, no one will be visiting us

I'm having no visitors the entire first day

Yes my fiancé and I did this. Best decision ever!! After the birth we had an hour with our son to bond and it was an amazing experience! Grandparents came later and other visitors next day. Highly recommend ☺️

my daughter was born at 3 in the morning. grandpa and grandpa were there for the birth, but left as soon as all the nurses and staff did. then it was me, daddy and her until that evening. we had a couple friends drop in and give balloons and gifts, but nobody really hung around until around 6pm. then my sister and brother in law and their 3 month old basically never left. ugh. we were only there the day i delivered and the day after and i feel like they were there the WHOLE time. and my family never came to visit because they wouldnt leave and there was too many people around for me already.

thats definitely not happening with my son. mostly because daddy and i arent together anymore.

I had a c section with my first and will have one with this one. With our first people were in our room the second I would out of recovery and it was a revolving door. This next time I'm only telling our moms the c section date and then I'll let people visit the next day. It was hectic and I just wanted to snuggle my baby

I want at least an hour with my baby boy and husband before we get bombarded. my youngest sister is 9 so she can't wait and I can't wait for her to meet him as well but I want some time with him first. I'm secretly hoping I come early while my entire family is out of town 😂

I'm waiting until probably the second day before people are allowed to come visit unless it's my dad and brother

That's actually a really good idea. When I had my son everyone came and it took away that moment. Def plan to have some alone time with just u and the baby and you'll know when your ready for visitors

@merceadesss yes I feel like that to I will probably wait a few hours!

@hlanc4 what would I tell the nursers, that I don't want any visitors untill I give permission?

@cillagrace, a lot of times nurses have no issues being "the mean one" just let them know you want time to recover shower! And tell friends visitors ahead of time . Plus they may have to do tests on baby and he may be in nursery so guests shouldn't rush there

I had my son at 12:50 in the morning so no one was allowed until 9 am except hubby and friend who was in L&D with me.

@hlanc4 well my bfs pretty much whole family is waiting in the waiting room once I even go there so Idk how to tell them that
