I'm kinda upset. ebf is what I wanted most when Jr came. his appointment was today and his pediatrician said he wasn't gaining as much as he should. so she said he needs to come back before his 4 month check up, to see his weight gain and for his sight. I wanted to ebf for months, not be told he needs formula to gain :(

Breast milk has more calories than formula. I would seriously consider getting a second opinion.

my daughter weight gain is slow, and we had to take her to see a GI. I was told to continue to breastfeed, because it's what's best for baby, but to supplement with formula when giving a bottle of expressed breast milk. I don't give a bottle too often I've been trying to do it at least 3 or 4 times a week. I add 1 teaspoon of formula for every 3 ozs of milk. that helps add calories. she's gaining, slowly but surely. lol but she's still tiny for her age and isn't on the charts. but she's happy, has enough wet and poopy diapers, and hitting her milestones. I'm trying not to worry too much. I wont have to supplement forever so thats a good thing. defiantly seek another opinion and let them know you prefer to breastfeed.
