Has anyone been induced using Cervidil and how did it work for you? Need more stories 😂

@raehow, Sounds simple. I am so glad you took the time to comment. I know what to expect give or take depending on the hospital.

After 12 hours you should have one free hour to shower or do whatever then they will probably start pictocin. (At least that's how everything worked at the hospital I was at)

Yeah. There's not much to it. It's a thin paper insert with a string like a tampon and a nurse will place it. After its placed you have to lay still for an hour or two then you're free to get up and go to the restroom or walk around after that. It may or may not cause mild contractions.

@raehow, They started your cervidil the day before for 12 hours right?

No but I don't think it had anything to do with all the other stuff. The placement was just wrong

@raehow, The epidural didn't work?

I got 12 hour cervidil then pitocin. Labor was pretty quick and not too bad. Epidural didn't slow anything down but it didn't work for me.

@cartersmother, yeah it got me started. It was crazy for me since My body wasn't ready for labor at all. The epidural is what set me back a lot

@stephhhx3, Did the Cervidil work to dilate you? .. I have heard some horror stories with the pitocin. I'm sure I am getting that after my Cervidil as well.

They put it in me and I wasn't dilated AT ALL. They kept it in for 12 hours then started pitocin. The whole induction process was crazy!

Just breath before you know it, it'll be all over with and you'll get to hold and kiss that little cutie inside you! Best of luck ! 😊

Don't worry it's normally when the baby is laying on their umbilical cord. they will move you from side to side quickly to see if it goes back up before they take you to a c section! So everything was fine when they titled me a little to get her to move off it! Don't worry they take good care of mommies to be in the hospitals!! You'll do great!

@christy0128, Oh wow. That has got to be nerve wracking when that happens. I will freak out if my son heart does that.

They recommended using that first because it normally does the trick for lots of moms to be. They were going to use it first on me but my daughters heart rate dropped extremely low so they can't use any medication for a while when that happens so they did other things to help get me to five until they thought it was safe for medications to be used.

You were pretty well into your progression by the time they used it. I am only a finger tip dilated. @christy0128

Yes after all the things they tried that was the last one and when they put it in I was 5cm and after it did it's job they checked again and I was 10 cm and ready to push!
