Anyone have experience with Cervidil as the first step in labor induction? Looking to hear some first hand experiences.

I had two rounds of it I hasn't dilated but a fringe tip also and not thinning but was 42 weeks. it helped me with just one round but my doctor decided to give me a second to speed up labor with an iv drug to help they started at midnight but I didn't feel contractions till noon and delivered right before 6 pm but everyone is different

I didn't work for me, I also had 3 rounds and since that didn't work they gave me.something called pitosin (not the right spelling) and that didn't work. So after 3 days of being induced I finally had a c section.

it should, i just dont think i was ready to be induced and my body fought against me the entire time. lol

@pixiestix, I'm hoping the Cervidil does the job.

@pixiestix, When they broke it? It's like he is not willing to work with me because, after one round if I am not changed at all... He may just proceed with the C Section. Which I do not want.

i was 1cm dilated when they started my induction, the cervidil is supposed to help soften the cervix to make dilation easier with less risk of needing a c-section. it was kind of working but the only thing that actually worked was my water. lol

@pixiestix, Just the success of it. Which does not sound promising in your case 😕 3 rounds? I think my OB is only doing one round. He said it will be put in place for 12hrs he would check me the following morning hopefully there is a change... If not he may have to proceed with a C Section.. I am only a finger tip dilated.

i had to go through three 12 hour rounds on cervidil. whatcha need or want to know?
