so a friend of mine in interested in breaking her own water. I personally want it to happen naturally I want to have that experience....but she doesnt have anyone to turn too to ask about this. I have no idea or advice to help. any ladies do it? and how did it turn out?

@megan512 Trust me I completely understand.. we all have gotten to that point... I hope she doesn't and just waits... it'll be over soon.
@sexxymama83, I am worried she is going to end up driving herself crazy so I called her husband and filled him in maybe he can encourage her to relax and just try to enjoy this last part.
@karnamarie, she said she wont try sent her a screen shot of everyones reply. I told her to contact her nurse or doctor and see what they would want maybe she can be induced if she is persistent with wanting to have her baby. I think the part in the pregnancy where we are all ready to not be pregnant is just hitting her really hard.
I hope not either. Is there someone else you could inform about her...... Maybe call her doctors office anonymous and tell them what she is thinking. Because she is putting not only her life but her babies life in jeopardy.
@megan512 If she does do something you need to make sure you contact someone to take her to the hospital immediately ... it could be a very dangerous situation for her and her baby
she asked her doctor since she is considered full term but he didnt say much. I talked to my doctor and on the 17th I have an appointment I will be telling him to strip the membranes. since it will be my due date and I wont have to worry
With my first the Drs had to break my water when I was a 9 I never progressed any further after they broke my water 4 hours later they finally talked me into potosin. Just because the water breaks especially if not naturally does not necessarily mean anything will happen
@sexxymama83, see thats exactly what I was reading shes same as me.just a few days after her due date is the 24th im on the 17th and im ready for this baby to be out but i want it to happen naturally I keep trying to tell her the experience will be worth the wait but shes persistent so I hope she doesnt try anything stupid
bad idea 100% she could cause harm to herself or baby. please adivese her not too because if she attempts and something happens she can also get in a lot of trouble!
Bad idea. 1. Once your water breaks you are more susceptible to infection. 2. Since she isn't a doctor it's more to it than just sticking something in you. She could scrape a blood vessel or hook the wrong thing and caus bleeding. When we are pregnant we can bleed out faster than if we are not. So just try to encourage her that it's not a good idea. Also just because your water breaks doesn't mean you'll instantly go into labor. And she could still end up with a csection if not an emergency csection.
A professional needs to do it. Once her water is broke she will need to have her baby soon after or she and the baby can get infections... it's not a good thing to break it before her body is ready
I have never heard of anyone breaking their own water wouldn't even know how you would even do that.
She should go to the hospital n let the Drs do it just to be on the safe side cuhz after ur water breaks ur contractions are consists t
she should go to the doctor to do that. there is ways to go into labor naturally, like sex, walking, my water broke from drinking pineapple juice for 2days. i was late. @megan512 the last part of pregnancy is hard!!
