if I get induced, can I refuse cytotec?
I don't ever want cytotec again, honestly just bc of my experience on it 2 years ago after a miscarriage. I know everyone has different experiences with it. but it was painful for me and the aftermath mortified me so badly I swore I'd never wanna touch that pill again for any reason. I had to take it orally, though not vaginally which may be why it was that way. but I'd rather not have to run in with cytotec ever again, personally 😐

You can refuse anything. There are plenty of other ways to induce you without it. I was induced with all 4 of my kids with pitocin and they never tried to give me cytotec. I did have a miscarriage was given it then and it's just as awful vaginally as it is orally. I would definitely refuse if they had tried to give it to me.

yeah like... my experience with cytotec was not... oh man. like it really mortified me to the point where I was afraid to have sex for the longest time. but once I heard they use it to induce also I was like.. nope that's gonna be immediately off my list. I can't fathom ever taking that pill again even if it was to help induce me. @csp0355

I completely understand after my first oral round I was in bed for a full day and the second vaginal round I could barely move for 2 days. It was seriously the worst thing ever and I would never want that associated with labor. Your doctor should understand and if it's an issue of trying to progress things faster then just pitocin they can use a Foley bulb. @xbbycolletto

They tried both with me, and it the pill did not work at all. As soon as they started me on pitocin it went fast & smooth. I would just request pitocin.
