Yeah I was the same I kept forgetting.. They asked me when in labour and I said I hadn't been maintaining like I should have, they didn't moan they just want to know so they can give you the best treatment.. Had I not told them I could have had a very heavy bleed but instead I think I only lost about 200-300ml.. Anaemia starts when it's under 12 that'll be why.. Try to get iron in you for yourself as you will struggle to breathe due to it and then just let them know at the hospital when the big day comes.. :) xxx @steph775

@emmajo, wow glad it all went good for you tho hun mine wasn't that low mine was 11.3 or something but I had a letter back from the hospital saying I'm anemic I have had quite a bit of trouble with my iron tho I have tablets atm to rake I do forget to take them sometimes so I will tell them xxx

Yes, an be honest with them if you've not been able to maintain your iron intake properly cause it'll help you in the long run.. I dunno what level my iron was at but apparently it was so low I didn't even have any stores.. I needed other drips as well like a hormone drip during labour so it was all done through the same cannula thankfully.. xxx @steph775

@emmajo, you have to go on a drip with anemia yikes x I got that to look forward too then 😣

I had the IV iron drip during labour due to my anemia.. It's to make sure you don't need to have blood transfusions and you bleed out excessively during labour. Low iron is common in pregnancy and due to that people don't understand what it can mean if it's not detected.. Everything will be okay :) it's very straight forward.. Should be a canula in the hand xx
