So I currently babysit full time for this family who lives near me. They have two boys. One is 5 and is kindergarten and the other is 2 and stays home. I've been with them for a few months and everything is fine. Sometimes I feel like the husband is flirting with me, but nothing major. I take really good care of the kids and come in on short notice if needed and even stay really late if they ask me to. The wife's car even broke down and I've taken her to work before. Long story short, I am very good to the family. So they pay decent but not too great. So when I'm not working for them I pick up other part time or one time babysitting gigs for date nights or things like that. So today I go on the babysitting site and I see the lady who I sit for has posted an ad this morning looking for a new sitter for the same days and hours that I currently work but with more pay. Now mind you, last week she told me that starting in the next few weeks she's going to start needing me much less because her two year old is going to start going to day care. At the time I said okay but now I think she was just feeding me BS, and was going to try and replace me all together. She even told me that she was planning to quit her job soon so she wouldn't need me as much. Anyways I don't like to play around so I texted her and asked her what was going on and she says, oh we aren't trying to get rid of you that's for after you have the baby. I just assumed you wouldn't want to go back to work right away. So why is the start date of the job two weeks from now in the beginning of April? I'm due May 28. Which is damn near June. Please tell me I'm not tripping and she's trying to replace me? I'm not stupid and I know when I'm being lied to. I don't know if she thinks I'm not going to be able to handle her two kids and my newborn after the birth or maybe she's picked up on her husband hitting on me or what I'm not sure. But her kids love me to death and she knows that and how good I treat them. I'm definite going to look for a new full time babysitting job.

Yeah I understand that. And at one point I was even considering quitting because her husband made me feel uncomfortable. But it was nothing too major like I said so I decided to stay and he kinda dialed it back. But if she picked up on it and wanted to let me go I'd understand. She didn't even have to give me an explanation. She could just say we aren't a good match or something. I just don't think it's right to lie and blindside me completely when I'm 7 months pregnant. @nessa_475

you are absolutely right. I rather pple be honest with me as opposed to lying and doing things all sneaky. I'm sorry you had to deal with that. I hope you can find a better paying job bc I'm 7mths prego and no one will hire me except the day care I'm at @ayyeblackberry__

Think about it this way...she's a mother, and your a first time mommmy. Normally a month or so before you give birth your not at your best, your irritated more, grumpy, agitated, body aches, swollen, etc. Maybe she is just looking out for you. And from my own experiences that month or so before giving birth I was useless, my hubby did most of the work with our toddler children. And most def after birth you are gonna need time to bond, and take care of your own child (especially a newborn). If anyone says taking care a newborn with other kids isn't hard they are a damn lie. Even with help it eases some pressure off of you but it's still hard #ijs

I understand looking out for me. But not straight up lying to me. She could've just said I'll give you a month off is that okay and I would've agreed. She started doing sneaky things. Like who accidentally chooses April 1st as a start date for the job posting. That's no accident. Also she's said several things like her quitting and job and her son starting daycare full time. If he's going to daycare full time why do you need a full time sitter at all? Because she made the post for full time hours. I understand I could be reading into this wrong but I highly doubt it. Doesn't add up. @santanna86

Most people, even me have a terrible delivery sometimes. We say and do things before we think it through. Or say things and then end up recanting. As parents we say, think, and would like to not need to put our kids in daycare, pay babysitters, or pay someone to watch them but in all reality we can't afford to. I could be wrong but I think before quitting or going on perceptions have a sit down with her, express yourself, let her express hers and get some clarification before you make a decision.

I think she seemed pretty clear...@ayyeblackberry__, I agree. There's no reason to cut back on your hours, start telling you different stories if she was looking out for you. Then she posted the job offering better pay and more hours-to start well before your due date? I mighty give her another chance to explain, but I'd still be looking for other options. So sorry girl. This is just rough all around.
