So I apologize if this question is an "eye roller" but please bare with me. Okay so lots of family have been asking me if I'm pregnant with twins because I am showing big time so early on. I know that doesn't always mean multiples but they do run in the family on my husbands side. So my question is at my doctors appointment on Thursday I'll be exactly 13 weeks and although I'm not getting an ultrasound yet I am getting to hear the heartbeat on a doppler. Am I far enough along yet for a doppler to pick up multiple heartbeats if I am in fact having more than one? Also I'm posting a picture in the comments of how much I'm showing at 12 weeks!! Thanks in advance mommies!! 😊
I'd be going crazy not knowing! haha I hope they can give you a definitive answer either way! I have no experience in twin pregnancy but I think you look great either way! Good luck!
No ultrasound yet! Thursday will be my second Drs apt and they said I'll get to hear the heartbeat on a Doppler. I'll also be exactly 13 weeks 😊 @showersoverflowers
my belly is bigger worth this baby than my first! although I definitely was not a small belly lady then either haha
@showersoverflowers, Well this is my 3rd pregnancy in 3 years! I've had them back to back to back! Lol. Oldest was born July 2014, next was born August 2015, this one is due September 2016. Lol I was tiny until atleast 6 month with both of them haha.

I was afraid of that! Lol maybe an ultrasound sound will say for sure either way it goes lol
take a look at my belly pictures. I'm having one and measure ahead. it all depends on your body and baby
@tuckermommy, some twins aren't found until 20 (and then some) weeks. We found out at 7 weeks but my babies weren't hiding either lol. When trying to find heartbeats at my OB (I saw a high risk doc and my OB) with a Doppler, more times than not we could only hear one because they were the same. The Doppler can also pick up on your heart beat as well, but they will be able to tell the difference between you're and the baby's

Thank you! I'm happy either way! So i won't be disappointed if not. Just curious is all :)
Hey girl I'm having twins 😊 You will pick up both of their heartbeats if there are twins but they may be in both places if that makes sense. Usually I have one down low and one up high or one on the left and one on the right. Also your eggs aren't the only way a set of twins can be made. Your husband can play a part in it as well. For example if two of his sperm cells fertilize two of your eggs. 😊 Good luck.
@kelseys, also I've done research that shows many twins that have hidden on ultrasounds for awhile. It's so crazy to think about lol
@kelseys, yes it makes total sense. I have twins on my side just not as much as he does. He's a twin, he has twin sisters, twin cousins etc. hahaha
you usually have twins when it runs in your family, not your husbands because it has to be your eggs that are able to split or have 2 at once, not the sperm.... if that makes sense. and sometimes you hear two heartbeats because it picks up yours and the baby's. but you'll definitely be able to tell when you have an ultrasound.
Yes! I found my little guys heart beat on my pocket fetal Doppler at 11 weeks :)
you're bump is amazing wheather its twins or not:D I was close to that size when I was 12 weeks, only have a boy tho
Me either!! Lol & thanks girl!
