Do you call a pediatrician before or after the baby is born and if before how long before the baby is born should I call?

I already know who I want my baby to see but I'm not sure when to call or if I'm supposed to before he will be here. This is my first baby so I'm not sure on all of it. I've heard to both wait and call before so I'm not sure. I asked my mom and she isn't sure either.
We had to have ours set up before she's born. I'm currently 37 weeks and we went to one last night for a prenatal consult. We gave the pediatrician info to the midwives and they call once she's born to let them know length, weight, etc. then we will make an appointment for her to be seen once we get home. I'm not sure if ours is a bit of a different scenario because I'm planning on birthing at a birth center, but I'm pretty sure hospitals have a pediatrician that will come around and check your baby and preform any necessary tests/vaccinations.

I've already called and met my daughters at 18 weeks had a meeting with him. Just whenever you feel comfortable

Any female that claims they didn't know she was pregnant until a month before the baby was born is lying.

I just want to see how many mommas had their baby on or before their due date since you hear usually the first baby is after it!

most the time you tell the hospital the one you want and they will let them know when the baby is born and they will come visit in the hospital
