Is this a lot of a little bit of breast milk? I only pumped from 1 side for about 5 mins. My son is only 6 days old. I never pumped with my first son so I don't know, I had to pump this time because I was drowning him every time he tried to nurse. He was getting soaked. Lol
@emmyannie1122, i have this app that I keep track of which breast I fed from and for how long so I don't forget and feed him on the same side again. But it usually doesn't matter cause he'll usually eat from both sides at one feeding lol
@ninjamami yes maam (: that's awesome he's gained!!! that means you're doing awesome
@hlanc4, he just had his first check up this morning and he's gained 9 ozs since birth! He's a fatty and constantly wanting to eat.
@gypsy.soul2, what is EP and EBF? exclusively pumping? Exclusively breastfeeding? Lol I'm not good with these abbreviations.
I'm a month pp and I just pumped over 10oz all together took me 5 mins lol that's a good amount for you :)
I thought 4 ounces was good... so I would be over feeding my baby if I start her off with 4 ounces?
Dont worry! I was always worried but they are amazing what boobs can do! I even started supplementing with my first bc Dr said wasn't gaining weight ..looking back I should have just kept nursing !
that's an oversupply BUT with baby being a newborn it looks like you're regulating.. unless you're going to be EP instead of EBF I'd recommend only pumping after he eats or hand expressing just so you don't get an oversupply when your milk regulates.. you can also pump one side while he nurses on the other and then switch but don't pump top long, just enough to feel like you won't drown him lol. if your supply stays in an overabundance then consider donating (: Good job! @ninjamami
thank you @gypsy.soul2
