Does anyone know how maternity leave works? I took off the minimal 6 weeks with my older daughter but I've heard of some women taking 4-5 months. How does that work?

Really depends on the job ...I got 12 weeks paid ..but I know some people only get 6

Yeah I'll get paid 12 weeks as long as I have the required accumulated hours by the time I have the baby, but I also have an extra 120 days to use for disability before I lose my position. Definitely check with your HR dept to be safe 👍🏽

depends on your job.. my job you have to be there 6 months before you can take it and be paid. I get 16 weeks paid

my work told me only 12 wks cause i didnt qualify for the other leave..bt my doctor took me off n feb 1st n i will go back til may 17! so we will see cause disability has these dates..so my work as to go by what my doctor says n edd!!

16 weeks?! Dear lord, I really need to look into this then and talk to my boss. That's amazing, I hope I get nearly that much. @ftmommieoftwiinz

Yeah I've been holding off.. I'm 25 weeks with twins.. I'm trying to work until my scheduled c section date..I would definitely check because some employers won't tell you about these things.
