moms whose babies have acid reflux, do they take meds for it? if so, how bad was their reflux to be put on meds?
exactly, @jgled000 You know your baby better than anyone else so you know when they are ready. My baby is only about 10lbs and she's 3 months. So I'm hoping giving her some rice cereal will help her gain weight and help keep the acid issue in check
@embersandash, yeah he's 15lbs now so he's definitely healthy. he'll be 4 months on the 21st so I think I'm going to start anyway. my kid my choice right?
@jgled000, that's good that he's gaining weight. My little girl wasn't. She is still really small. I haven't been told anything about starting solids but I did anyway. She's 3 months and is getting rice cereal at night. It helps, too. But since you're using AR he's already getting rice starch
@airannamommy, did she do okay? hes 3.5 months now and I'm going to wait for 4 months. I'm just worried how his belly will handle it.
that's why I fed my daughter so early I started feeding her at 3 1/2 months
@vb95, did the Enfamil AR work better than the Similac spit up? my Doctor is recommending us to go from the Similac to Enfamil
@airannamommy, @embersandash @mommabearto2 @vb95 thank you all for your experiences and opinions. she isn't concerned since he is gaining weight well. she said that when he starts eating solids it should slow down. but she doesn't want me to start solids until 5-6 months. I may start sooner and see how he does.
I breast feed and my daughter had the same issue. Found out it was because of the dairy I was eating so we cut out all dairy and that worked.
My son was breastfed, then we were told to add rice cereal to my breast milk so I would start to pump, then my supply went down. Then we were on similac spit up, then enfamil ar, his dr did a milk protein allergy test and he was hypoallergenic formulas for a while and now we're back on enfamil ar again waiting for the test results. All those changes in formula were per his dr's orders. He has been starting to get a bad rash when he eats and there's some blood in his poop so his dr was thinking that he has a milk protein allergy🙁 they checked him for pyloric stenosis probably 4 times and luckily it has never been that , but my little one has spit up since he was born, he is taking Zantac right now, twice a day. Not much of a difference though.
I hope they do something. I worked in the infant room in a daycare so I know what's normal and what's not and I just hope that she listens to my concerns.
yeah the enfamil didn't do much for her so my husband and I put her on similac for spit up ans its worked so well
The dr will probably tell you that spitting up some is normal. We were told that a lot. It was annoying. But if you really think there's something wrong then press the issue and see if you can get either medicine or some other things to try
well my son spits up a lot. sometimes projectile. He's also been eating less. we put him on enfamil ar 2 weeks ago and it helped a little but he is still spitting up a lot. I have an appointment in an hour but not sure that his dr will do anything. @airannamommy @embersandash
Mine has been on it since she was 2 months as well. She was projectile spitting up and having screaming fits.
yeah she did great her food never comes up its just her milk and omg does she love to eat lol she's gained weight since she's been setting food as well which is good
