I think that's just people being people. I could see that if they're stuck in front of the tv every day all day watching senseless shows. But my son is ridiculously smart for his age and I think part of it is because he is always asking questions because of something he sees or hears on tv and I explain it to him. I think it can be beneficial if it's not used as something to keep them occupied.

I heard it does nothing for their development, like its neutral there is no progress being made. So its like lost time, they arent gaining anything. Im sure a baby can afford to lose an hour or so a day, but you shouldn't do it excessively because they have a lot of growing to do the first 3 years especially!

My son watched tv every now and then when he was a baby and he never slows down enough to be interested in it now. He watched the original Dukes of Hazzard and that's the only way he would stop crying :)
