FTM + terrified - so here we are, only 31 weeks +4 days and we've been in hospital under observations for a couple of days following routine scan showing abnormality with umbilical cord blood flow.
Im booked in for csection on Friday (at the latest provided observations dont flag further concerns) and im completely terrified!
I havent prepared myself at all for an early birth, let alone csection- i know very little about premature babies and im feeling like ive failed our bubba completely before 'its' even here 😢
Morning ladies, thought I should update you on our news!
Armand Christopher arrived by csection on 9/3/16 weighing 3lb 7oZ and supporting a full head of hair!
He is in ICU and doing OK.
xx
I know a beautiful little girl who was born at 24 weeks and is perfectly fine today and aged 9 years old ..... as scary as this is u are in the best place wot the best care and they obviously feel baby will progress more outside !!! This is not ur fault at all and u will be a fantastic mum @sophster good luck for the operation xx
good luck to you and bubba @sophster ! i'm sure you both will be ok, like @stacey804 says it sometimes is better for bubs to be outside rather than inside. just try and relax in the meantime xx
Try to stay calm hun, I know it must be a worrying situation but the hospital will do everything possible to help the baby. Good luck💜 xx
Wow they really are in a rush to get that baby out. Try to relax. Easier said then done I know! But getting stressed and upset will be worse for you and baby. Xx
thanks @stacey804
Ohhh they have just brought csection forward to TODAY! xx
Thank you all @ciara25 @stacey804 @lou you have all made great points and made me feel somewhat better too!
I know they're doing whats best for bubba and im so confident in them, care received so far has been AMAZING!
Will keep you all updated with progress. xx
The survival rate after 30 weeks is quite high. I can't begin to imagine how terrified you are but just hold the thought of being able to meet your baby and that this decision is what is best for him/her. Sending you all the luck in the world xx
It's understandable your going to feel that way. I would totally feel the same. But like @ciara25 said you will be in the best place and so will your little one. They wouldn't deliver your baby unless they felt necessary, sometimes it's safer for them on the outside then on the inside in the later stages of pregnancy. Good luck and I'm sure all the women on here will be thinking of you. Xx
Oh and my sister was born 8weeks premature almost 30years ago & she was fine ☺ x
