So are there really any ways to get money while you're on maternity leave? My job doesn't offer paid maternity leave and I cannot add short term disability to my current insurance.

My boss actually laid me off before I left for maternity leave so I collected unemployment...that was 10 years ago and my boss was awesome. I don't know how you would go about that.

there are very few states that offer paid maternity/disability leave. You can go online to your state's website to find more info. I'm in Jersey & was able to get it.

They should give you the option to get your sick time and vacation time paid out while you're gone

I saved up 3 weeks of sick and vacation time that I was able to use.

Yes I am saving up my sick and vacation time, but it won't be enough for three months worth of time off @mommagotbump16 also, if I quit and don't take any days off after I give my two weeks notice, they'll pay me for my unused sick and vacation time. I don't want to quit though lol. @alyen2 that's my plan. I'll only be able to save up about 3 weeks though. Not nearly enough 😓
