Of course! @mandiebby I had to take bc before I started my cycle and I didn't understand it either until they explained that it balances hormones out and helps me hold onto my lining a little better in the long haul :) I'm happy to say, the embryo took the first time and I'm currently 4 weeks. Sending lots of baby dust your way ♡

If you're having constant periods like that, it's probably from a low level of progesterone in your body. Progesterone is what tells your body not to shed it's lining and when it's too low, your body just constantly sheds it. It could be a result of the PCOS but I'm not sure. Putting you on birth control is to help you naturally increase your level of Progesterone since that's the main hormone in the pill (keeps you from ovulating, but keeps your lining from shedding) and when he takes you off, you should have an easier time getting pregnant. I'm on a lot of different hormonal medications to help me stay pregnant right now, and had to start medications (a lot more direct forms than what you're taking, but your meds are more cost efficient) 4 weeks prior to embryo transfer (I'm a surrogate) and I asked A LOT of questions lol. I hope this helps and you are on your way to a successful pregnancy ♡

@mandiebby it'll take time but if you stick with the metformin your ovulation will be on track by 6 months and it'll happen in no time, I was only on provera and metformin 2 months before I got pregnant just trust it, I'll be praying for you:) i know how it feels tobwabt a little one so bad:/

I've been trying to get pregnant for over a year. I've never been pregnant before, I don't think. & I just want to hurry up & be able to get pregnant. my obgyn said I can take the bc for 6 months & then try for a baby. I'm just scared I'll have to be on it longer.

@hladybug yeah didn't bother me, I knew bc was an option I just assumes she didn't have a period and with that provera would give the quickeat results 2 years of trying and 3 miscarriages later I'm 20 weeks with a healthy baby girl so I swear by provera and metformin

@hermommy, I totally agree Metformin is a beast on your stomach. bleh

@mandiebby yeah that's what they're doing...theyre getting your body ready for it bc metformin when you start on a high dose your body can't take it and it'll tear up your stomach. Lord knows it tore mine up I started on 500 2x a day and in 2weeks was up to 2000 mg my stomach was so messed up

@hermommy, I wasn't trying to be rude. I promise, I was just trying to explain what worked for me. Lol I know it sounds counterintuitive. We're just proof that there's so many ways to treat things.

@hermommy, my doctor has me on 500 MG of metformin once a day for 3 months & my obgyn has me on microgestin 1.5/30

@christinaantoinette no you combined them with things normally but metformin will only work if your body is regulated which is where BC or provera come in

4 months, I was having normal periods but my ovulation was all over the place so it helped with that. I'd been trying almost a year before that. @mandiebby

not saying it will work for everyone but it is something they'll try sometimes

@hladybug I know what PCOS is I have it I wasn't aware she had a period I didnt think she had one at all, bc would've never worked for me thats why i said that

@mandiebby no the bc is the right option, and bc in order for metformin to work the right way you have to have it in your system and keep uping the dose until you hit 2000-3000 mg you gave to gradually do it... so that's why your doctor is going about it right if you have a non stop period

That's what my doctor had me do and I'm pregnant now. @hermommy Primarily pcos is a hormonal imbalance so when they put you on a low dose it just boosts the hormones you need to get pregnant and helps balance out the testosterone.

Well I don't think I need Provera then because when I wasn't taking birth control I was constantly on my period. I would have it for 2 weeks straight then start again 2 weeks later. it was horrible. my periods are finally getting on track. I just don't get why I'm taking metformin now if I'm not allowed to get pregnant with this birth control?

@hladybug but that defeats the point if her trying to get pregnant there are other ways.

you could always use provera and metformin to get pregnant like I did then when baby is born get on BC to regulate the cycle

provera gives and causes a cycle so your body will realize what it should be doing

birth control gives you more female hormones and helps regulate cycles. it's pretty common for them to put you on a low dose.

What is provera? my doctor said I should keep taking birth control to regulate my cycles.

that doesn't sound right.... provera and metformi should be what you take
