It's easy to see why this image taken by California-based birth photographer, doula, and placenta encapsulation specialist Robin Baker was one of the 2016 International Association of Professional Birth Photographers’ 2016 Image of the Year Competition winners.
What you are seeing is a home water birth of twins, one of whom was born en caul, or fully encased in the amniotic sac.

Was just thinking that...you have to pay 10k+ to fly in and put up a midwife who wasnt licensed here to pull it off, so unfair. It should definitely be mothers choice, cuz this is beautiful! @bugmama

Home births should never be illegal it just sounds dumb if they aren't. There are a ton of other things that should be illegal and aren't.
