Just me and this precious one today. 6 days old and sleeping thought the night now 6-7 hours such a good boy. I'm so inlove 💕💙 xx
My midwifes always say that you should wake them after 4 hours. I think it's completely ridiculous and I've never listened. If your baby is alert when they do wake, is eating and gaining weight then it's really not a problem. why would you get your baby into the habit of waking frequently If they want to sleep!
My baby slept 6 hours at night when she was really new. It was down to jaundice...you could do anything..change her etc and she wouldnt wake up :) But that soon changed lol....lucky to get 3 hours at a time :) and yeah they don't say to wake a baby. As they will wake if hungry/uncomfortable x x
Thanks ladies will defiantly check with her today , it's crazy coz I remember with my 1st I kept waking my son up for feeds and the midwife laughed at me and said why wake a sleeping baby ? That was 11years ago tho and I agree @nashkay all different midwifes say different things no wonder it can get confusing lol xx
It's just what the midwife told me. She didn't say why, she just said they're so young and to make sure I woke her for a feed no later than a 4 hour gap. Don't take it for gospel lol every midwife across the country tells you different things. My baby is 6 weeks now and sleeps 5-6 hours at night. I usually put her down at 11pm-midnight and she'll wake up at 5-6am
My little one sleeps from 10/11pm till 6/7am but has a bottle before he sleeps, and gets one straight away when he wakes up. he is 10 weeks old though so I'd maybes ask the midwife if that's okay, as he will be missing out on a lot of milk that young xx
I wake anyway and keep checking him can't help it lol but if a baby is sleeping I don't know if you should wake them ? My midwife is coming today anyway will speak to her but Iv never heard of that before @nashkay will find out x
Should they be sleeping that long at the age? I was told not to tell baby sleep more than 4 hours when they're first born. That's just what the midwife said the first 2 weeks. X
Ow bless u @sophiegreen .It may be a few one offs we'll see but he's doing well 😊xx
He is lovely x
