My doc told me not to sleep on my back for the same reasons @mrsmord said. She said it's better to sleep on your stomach(if comfortable) or sides.
I've heard that as long as nothing hurts it's fine. I sleep on my back because it's more comfortable than my sides.
My dr told me if I was comfortable and didn't have any problems breathing it was fine
when your baby gets bigger is when you should stop and put a pillow under one side of you
When u get around 16 17 weeks u shouldn't sleep on ur back anymore
It's not healthy bc the baby presses on an important vein in ur back and it can cause problems with ur blood flow . So rather sleep on your side
I sleep on my back sometimes because I have huge problems with my hips but I stash a few pillows extra behind me and one under my knees so I'm reclined a little more...
