This doesn't have anything to do with pregnancy but I'm so upset. My BF is pre diabetic and we've talked about him watching his sugar intake. He just finished his second can of soda tonight, he had a medium smoothie earlier. I'm at the point where I don't want to give a shit anymore, I'm not food police and I refuse to call him out anymore. Grrrrr 👿

He needs to take care of himself or he's going to be angry when he has to check his blood sugar every day. My family has a history of diabetes and my paternal grandmother refused to take her insulin and is now in a nursing home due to other complications stemming from that and other things. It's nothing to take lightly but it's manageable😕 he shouldn't make it difficult for himself

As someone who has been diabetic since 13, pre diabetes isn't something to take for granted. I never had the choice to avoid shots bc I'm type 1 but I will tell you I'm now 26, take 5-6 injections a day, check my sugars 10 times a day and worry how long I will be around for my children. Don't give up on him, hound him, he will be around for your children and that will be worth it.

@raegenice, @misserinc I've never dated anyone overweight or had such unhealthy habits. I love him and I don't want to drive him away by nagging him or making him feel bad but it's becoming a problem for me. I feel myself analyzing everything he eats or drinks and it's not doing me any good obsessing. But at the same time it really bothers me sometimes that he is overweight and unhealthy. I just don't know what to do anymore, I've talked to him several times about his health but I feel like it's not taken seriously.

@indigenousmommy, keep getting on him and show him something about how dangerous diabetes is. He has a chance to change his life. He wants to stay with you and your children, the last thing he wants to do is put his life in danger. He doesn't want to go to a check up and hear that he's diabetic or end up in the hospital because he hasn't taken care of himself. You love him so much he should consider what it could change in not only his life but that of yours and your children. He's needed.
