Ok so my bf already had a daughter before me and him met and it seems to me like he tends to her but when I talk about my child he acts like he doesn't care, I've asked him about it and he says he acts like that bc the baby isn't hear yet but he's never been to any of my appointments when I'm sick and have to go to the Er he's never there, please help me understand ...

Maybe it's still unreal to him and he's still in shock? My boyfriend was like that at first but now he's starting to slowly come to reality with it. I think for them it's different because they don't have those "parental duties" immediately like we do if that makes sense. I talked to my boyfriend about it and he told me that he's like that because he still couldn't believe it. Me & him are also in a long distance relationship though but I see him on weekends so of course he hasn't been here for appointments either so I think that may be why it's not all the way there yet. He will be at my next appointment though at the end of the month but he won't be at many because he plays college football and they've already started practice for the season. Some guys just come around later then others. He might not believe it until delivery, who knows. But I would try to talk to him about it and try to get him to maybe one appointment and see if that helps. Or go baby shopping, something to get him involved.

@its_meejesz i agree with @mommyof2016 he should be there to willingly support you the whole way.
but then what doesn't make sense is why wouldn't he show that through the whole pregnancy I'd kick my man's ass if he didn't go to anything he leaves work if I have to go to the e.r he doesn't even care what they say to him about it

if that's he's baby he should have been there.. sounds like he never wanted another baby and tjat makes me sad
Kinda sound like my situation my baby father have two kids a boy and girl his baby mom was already pregnant with his daughter then I get pregnant when we talk he calls his daughter his daughter and our daughter mine daughter it's like he don't even claim our daughter we don't talk and he is never at the appointments probably one time never help me to stack stuff up and his excuse is because she ain't here yet well my daughter is having my last name
